Hot Commodity

The definition of a commodity is something of use, advantage, or value. Let’s focus on the word value. Value means to regard highly or esteem. As we focus on the word value, let’s take a minute and think about all of the things that we value in our own lives. When you thought about those things did you think about yourself? Do you find value and self-worth inside of you? Do you value your own body?

I am asking these questions because I know that men are visual beings. They are hunters and women are their prey. But, even with this knowledge you (women) have to make a decision on which man you will allow to catch you. You (men/women) cannot keep laying down with someone that has been in your life for only 2 seconds or 10 years, if that person is not willing to make a commitment to you. What are you profiting after your moments or years of  “pleasure” are over? You may want more out of the relationship, but the other person doesn’t. Therefore, in the end you are leaving empty handed and unfulfilled.

Ladies and gentlemen stop giving your PEARLS away to swine (Matthew 7:6, Amp). In the Bible it says, He who finds a [true] wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord. But, you can’t be found if you are defected and still dealing with other people’s “left-overs”. That means when a new man or woman comes along, he/she may look past you because he/she won’t see someone that is whole. You have to be whole in order to be found. Let God help you and heal you in those unfulfilled areas in your life. Please understand that you are a GIFT too someone and you are PRECIOUS in God’s sight! Start thinking about yourself as a HOT COMMODITY and know your WORTH!!!

Keep The Light On!

For those that don’t know I had heart surgery five years ago. You can read my post
about it here. When the surgery was finished I had really sharp back pain. The doctor said it was from the strain that was on my back when they closed my chest. So, the doctor gave me morphine to ease my pain. The morphine was hooked up to the side of my bed and getting injected into my body through a tube. When I felt the pain I just clicked a button and the morphine went straight into my
body. I was in
HEAVEN when that morphine entered! I felt no more pain and I wasn’t uncomfortable anymore either. It gave me true relief! But, that relief was only temporary. It was only for a moment. I had to keep clicking that button when the pain returned.

I equate this situation to me dealing with my everyday activities. I have been looking for work and there is a specific job that I really want. I went on an interview for it two weeks ago and I was denied the position. After hearing the news I was disappointed. But, I realized that when I am in the state of
disappointment and I stay there, then it could open up a door of discouragement. So, I quickly pulled myself together and started applying to different companies.

As I applied to other jobs my joy and confidence started returning. I decided not to get defeated. In the Bible it says, Arise [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you—rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you! (Isaiah 60:1, Amp). Since, we are the temple of God we should be radiant and shining always! When this incident happened two weeks ago, I felt my light dimming. That meant I had my light set on temporary (I turned it on and off whenever I wanted too). But, now I am choosing to keep my light on at all times! So, when people see me they will see my face LIT UP with God’s joy and peace, which is something that I CANNOT live without! It is where I draw my strength because the joy of the Lord is my strength and my stronghold (Nehemiah 8:10, Amp). Therefore, I encourage you to keep your light on no matter what is happening around you!! :)

One Word

If you had to choose one word to describe God, which word would you choose? Think about it while you read the information below.

One of my friends named Esther is an inspiration to me because she took a step out on faith. Esther worked at the YMCA for a number of years.  But, she had a desire to dance on Broadway.  So, after work Esther volunteered at “Steps” and took dance classes. After speaking to our pastor about this burning desire to dance in the spotlight, he asked her (paraphrasing) if you weren’t working so much what would you do? Esther said she would have free time to perfect her craft in dance and go on auditions.

The question and answer prompted Esther to seek the Lord about the desire. She felt the Lord leading her to leave her job.  So, she thought about it for a little while and received counsel from our pastor. A few months later she took a step out on faith to leave her job to pursue her dream. Esther said that she was hesitating on the day that she gave in her resignation letter. But, she finally handed it in without turning back. This decision gave Esther an opportunity to really trust God and see what He was going to do on her behalf.

As a result, Esther had an opportunity to audition for shows and she landed a gig, which was a tour for “The Wizard of Oz” at 31 years old. Also, Esther recently completed a nine-month tour for “Catch Me If You Can”. Now Esther is UNSTOPPABLE! She is well on her way to that Broadway stage!

I also have a story to share. I recently graduated with a degree in education. But, I don’t have a desire to teach any longer. So, I sought the Lord about what my next steps were going to be after I graduated.  I felt the Lord leading me to look into Sales, which was really crazy because 1. I hate Sales and 2. I didn’t have any experience in the field.  However, one day I was helping my cousin sell her baked goods at an event and I met a woman there. I asked the woman what did she do because I thought that she was one of the vendors at the event. She asked me what was my current field of work. I told her that I was graduating with an education degree, but I was interested in learning about Marketing and Sales. She said, “I have a marketing company”. When she said I have a marketing company MY MOUTH ALMOST HIT THE FLOOR!!! I was in complete shock! Long story short I am currently working for her company as an intern! Due to this opportunity, I know that my life is going to change because I am destined for greatness!

I shared both stories to show you that God is no respecter of persons. He loves us all and He wants to do something SPECTACULAR in our lives. Do yourself a favor and roll out of your box of COMFORT and SIMPLICITY, and let God take the LEAD in your life! Give God an opportunity to do something INCREDIBLE for you! Therefore, if I had to choose one word to describe God it would be “REAL!” – God is AWESOME and He deserves the PRAISE!! God is LOVE!!! (1 John 4:8 KJV)

WARNING: Please do not leave your job, due to frustration, tiredness, or acting out of emotions. Please seek counsel first from your Pastor, close friend, or someone that can give you sound advice, Use Wisdom!

God Bless,
CG

Super + Natural = ?

I often tend to think that I am SUPER WOMAN! I think that I can do any and everything. At least that is what I keep telling myself in my mindJ. However, I had a situation happen, which quickly brought me back to reality. Here’s what happened…

I was taking a class that I thought was quite interesting when I started. But, that immediately changed when I was informed that I had to retake an exam at the end of the semester. All of the interesting parts of the class went out the window at that point! I took the exam over and I found out that I didn’t pass the second time either! You can only imagine what was going through my head. I was enraged and I was disappointed. I felt like a failure and I felt stuck. My professor said that she was willing to show me areas that I needed to work on and take the exam again. But, it was hard enough taking the exam the second time. So, the thought of me taking it a third time was a nightmare!

I discussed the situation with my director. She told me not to worry and assured me that we would figure out a solution. The next day my director called me and said, I can either take the exam again or drop the course. I said how could I drop the course if the withdrawal date passed? She said I found out that you could withdraw from a course before the marking period ends. Ironically, the marking period was ending the next day. After I heard the news you would think that I would jump for joy right? Well, I was contemplating on taking the exam again. A part of me wanted to prove that I could pass. My pride didn’t want to be defeated by an exam. But, my director reminded me that I had given up so much already for that course. She was referring to the trip that I cancelled to take the exam the second time. She also said everything that I went through leading up to that point showed that it wasn’t worth staying in the class. I agreed with her and decided to drop the course.

You may see this as a loss because I could’ve passed the exam on the third try and not pay for another course. But, I see this as a gain because God provided a way of escape for me. I was smart enough to swallow my pride and bow out gracefully without any shame. How many things are you holding on to or doing that isn’t beneficial to your life and God is giving you a way of escape? I promise if you choose the way of escape you will enter into the peace of God (John 14:27, Amplified). I have learned that God is the Super in my Natural! If I do all that I can, then He will do the rest. Therefore, Super + Natural =A Blessed and Prosperous Life in Christ! ~Don’t be afraid to surrender your all to God!

27 Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]

                             -      John 14:27 (Amplified)

13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Blessed (happy, [a]to be envied, and [b]spiritually prosperous—[c]with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions) are the poor in spirit (the humble, who rate themselves insignificant), for theirs is the kingdom of heaven!

The Elite!

One day I was sitting in my house and thinking about the things that my friends have obtained. Then, I began to wonder why I wasn’t at the status level that they were. But, before I was able to complete my thought the Holy Spirit interrupted and said, “You are the righteousness of God in Christ”  (2 Corinthians 5:21, Amplified). He proceeded to say, “You have access to what they have. But, you don’t deem yourself worthy to receive it.”

The Holy Spirit said that I look at my friends as the elite, even though we all serve the same God. He continued to explain that my friends obtained what they have because they believed that God would give it to them. Then, He reminded me of Sarah (Abraham’s Wife) in the bible. Sarah was able to have a child in her old age because she had faith that God would keep His promise (Hebrews 11:12, Amplified).  Afterwards, He lovingly repeated, “You are the righteousness of God in Christ. Therefore, you are apart of the elite crowd as well because you are a child of God’s!”

I am letting you know that I have been bamboozled into believing that I was unworthy to receive God’s goodness. The reason that I was deceived is because I didn’t know what my inheritance was as a child of God. Now, I make it my business to study and read the bible. Now I know that I am the head and not the tail, above only, and not beneath (Deuteronomy 28:13, Amplified).

Let me leave you with this final thought. In 1 Peter 2:9 (Amplified) it states, But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own [d] purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. Now that you have been made aware of your royal status, continue to meditate on the Word of God and follow His commandments. Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are they who keep His testimonies, and who seek, inquire for and of Him and crave Him with the whole heart (Psalm 119:1 & 2, Amplified). Live your life like you are ELITE!

God Bless,
CG

Scriptures:

But seek ([z]aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness ([aa]His way of doing and being right), and then all these things [ab]taken together will be given you besides.

                                                                                                               Matthew 6:33 (Amplified)

And Peter opened his mouth and said: Most certainly and thoroughly I now perceive and understand that God shows no partiality and is no respecter of persons,

                                                                                                                   Acts 10:34 (Amplified)

For His divine power has bestowed upon us all things that [are requisite and suited] to life and godliness, through the [[d]full, personal] knowledge of Him Who called us by and to His own glory and excellence (virtue).
