One Word

If you had to choose one word to describe God, which word would you choose? Think about it while you read the information below.

One of my friends named Esther is an inspiration to me because she took a step out on faith. Esther worked at the YMCA for a number of years.  But, she had a desire to dance on Broadway.  So, after work Esther volunteered at “Steps” and took dance classes. After speaking to our pastor about this burning desire to dance in the spotlight, he asked her (paraphrasing) if you weren’t working so much what would you do? Esther said she would have free time to perfect her craft in dance and go on auditions.

The question and answer prompted Esther to seek the Lord about the desire. She felt the Lord leading her to leave her job.  So, she thought about it for a little while and received counsel from our pastor. A few months later she took a step out on faith to leave her job to pursue her dream. Esther said that she was hesitating on the day that she gave in her resignation letter. But, she finally handed it in without turning back. This decision gave Esther an opportunity to really trust God and see what He was going to do on her behalf.

As a result, Esther had an opportunity to audition for shows and she landed a gig, which was a tour for “The Wizard of Oz” at 31 years old. Also, Esther recently completed a nine-month tour for “Catch Me If You Can”. Now Esther is UNSTOPPABLE! She is well on her way to that Broadway stage!

I also have a story to share. I recently graduated with a degree in education. But, I don’t have a desire to teach any longer. So, I sought the Lord about what my next steps were going to be after I graduated.  I felt the Lord leading me to look into Sales, which was really crazy because 1. I hate Sales and 2. I didn’t have any experience in the field.  However, one day I was helping my cousin sell her baked goods at an event and I met a woman there. I asked the woman what did she do because I thought that she was one of the vendors at the event. She asked me what was my current field of work. I told her that I was graduating with an education degree, but I was interested in learning about Marketing and Sales. She said, “I have a marketing company”. When she said I have a marketing company MY MOUTH ALMOST HIT THE FLOOR!!! I was in complete shock! Long story short I am currently working for her company as an intern! Due to this opportunity, I know that my life is going to change because I am destined for greatness!

I shared both stories to show you that God is no respecter of persons. He loves us all and He wants to do something SPECTACULAR in our lives. Do yourself a favor and roll out of your box of COMFORT and SIMPLICITY, and let God take the LEAD in your life! Give God an opportunity to do something INCREDIBLE for you! Therefore, if I had to choose one word to describe God it would be “REAL!” – God is AWESOME and He deserves the PRAISE!! God is LOVE!!! (1 John 4:8 KJV)

WARNING: Please do not leave your job, due to frustration, tiredness, or acting out of emotions. Please seek counsel first from your Pastor, close friend, or someone that can give you sound advice, Use Wisdom!

God Bless,
