Creative Sparks

I understand that creation is a form of art. It’s art
that forms images that are in the creator’s mind. I know that I was born to
create because the ultimate Creator made me. Who might this be? Well, He’s the
creator of heaven and earth. If you are still having trouble figuring out whom
I’m speaking about His name is God. The Bible says, that He knew me before I
was in my mother’s womb. That’s right He formed and shaped me with His own two
hands and I am sooo in love with this Man!

God is the source of my inspiration. He is truly my muse.
I get so high off of His love. His love I can’t refuse. He is the air that I
breathe. He is the source of my strength. When I think of Him I get goose
bumps. His love can’t be replaced! He makes me smile. He makes me beam. I get
so full off of His love, that it makes me want to sing. God is amazing. He is
so grand. You should get to know Him as fast as you can!

I understand that creation is a form of art.

Let God create some sparks in your heart!

God Bless,

I WOULD LIKE TO SHOUT OUT TWO OF MY FRATERNITY BROTHERS WHO ARE CREATING SPARKS OF THEIR OWN...

Victor is a comedian by nature… But, he
is also a man of many words. Victor is a poet and he presents at spoken word
events. He just released his first book called “Sanctum: semi-auto”, which is a
compilation of his poetry! Vic has a creative mind as well. I love the imagery
that he portrays in his chapbook! His book is filled with words of love, growing
pains, determination, and perseverance. However, if I had to describe the book
in one word, then I would choose
INCREDIBLE! Sanctum: semi-auto is just that
good! Victor is a
PHENOMENAL WRITER! If you don’t have a copy, then I encourage
you to get one today! Please see the book on the right.

2.    Dickson Guillaume-

Dickson is musically inclined. He is the
Founder of Haitian Mass Choir. He has such a creative mind! To me Dickson is a
CREATIVE GENIUS! Everything that he does comes out SUPERB! He’s not only a
musician and arranges music, but he directs mini films and videos, and he hosts
events for the community as well. He has so much to offer and he is not letting
his talents go to waste. Please check out his biography and some of his work below.

Biography

Son of a preacher, Dickson Guillaume hails from a loving multitalented musical family of nine. Highly regarded as an accomplished song writer, drummer and self-taught pianist. Being called to ministry in a youthful age, Dickson always believed that a life in ministry is not a colorless life, but an exciting and innovative life. Called to youth ministry since 1985, Dickson Guillaume is not one that believes in ministry as usual, but unusual ministry.

Known for his “no holds barred” gospel styling, Dickson crossed the religious barrier by building programs and functions to minister to the youth of today’s generation. Functions like “Gospel Jam” which is a Christian nightclub to push young people to enjoy a mega-life infused with mega-joy and mega-faith.

Dickson Guillaume serves as a minister at Perfecting Faith Church in Freeport, N.Y. under the leadership of pastor Donnie McClurkin.

 I’m super proud of
my frat brothers! They are defeating the odds and following their dreams! Most
of all, they are keeping God first. They know that apart from God they can do
nothing (John 15:5, KJV). I pray that God will continue to have favor on them
and bless them. Keep up the good work frat!!

Note: The organization that we are apart of is called Alpha Nu Omega, Inc., which is a fraternity and sorority. Check us out at www.alphanuomega.org!

Hot Commodity

The definition of a commodity is something of use, advantage, or value. Let’s focus on the word value. Value means to regard highly or esteem. As we focus on the word value, let’s take a minute and think about all of the things that we value in our own lives. When you thought about those things did you think about yourself? Do you find value and self-worth inside of you? Do you value your own body?

I am asking these questions because I know that men are visual beings. They are hunters and women are their prey. But, even with this knowledge you (women) have to make a decision on which man you will allow to catch you. You (men/women) cannot keep laying down with someone that has been in your life for only 2 seconds or 10 years, if that person is not willing to make a commitment to you. What are you profiting after your moments or years of  “pleasure” are over? You may want more out of the relationship, but the other person doesn’t. Therefore, in the end you are leaving empty handed and unfulfilled.

Ladies and gentlemen stop giving your PEARLS away to swine (Matthew 7:6, Amp). In the Bible it says, He who finds a [true] wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord. But, you can’t be found if you are defected and still dealing with other people’s “left-overs”. That means when a new man or woman comes along, he/she may look past you because he/she won’t see someone that is whole. You have to be whole in order to be found. Let God help you and heal you in those unfulfilled areas in your life. Please understand that you are a GIFT too someone and you are PRECIOUS in God’s sight! Start thinking about yourself as a HOT COMMODITY and know your WORTH!!!

Do not give that which is holy (the sacred thing) to the dogs, and do not throw your pearls before hogs, lest they trample upon them with their feet and turn and tear you in pieces. (Matthew 7:6, Amp)

Keep The Light On!

For those that don’t know I had heart surgery five years ago. You can read my post
about it here. When the surgery was finished I had really sharp back pain. The doctor said it was from the strain that was on my back when they closed my chest. So, the doctor gave me morphine to ease my pain. The morphine was hooked up to the side of my bed and getting injected into my body through a tube. When I felt the pain I just clicked a button and the morphine went straight into my
body. I was in
HEAVEN when that morphine entered! I felt no more pain and I wasn’t uncomfortable anymore either. It gave me true relief! But, that relief was only temporary. It was only for a moment. I had to keep clicking that button when the pain returned.

I equate this situation to me dealing with my everyday activities. I have been looking for work and there is a specific job that I really want. I went on an interview for it two weeks ago and I was denied the position. After hearing the news I was disappointed. But, I realized that when I am in the state of
disappointment and I stay there, then it could open up a door of discouragement. So, I quickly pulled myself together and started applying to different companies.

As I applied to other jobs my joy and confidence started returning. I decided not to get defeated. In the Bible it says, Arise [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you—rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you! (Isaiah 60:1, Amp). Since, we are the temple of God we should be radiant and shining always! When this incident happened two weeks ago, I felt my light dimming. That meant I had my light set on temporary (I turned it on and off whenever I wanted too). But, now I am choosing to keep my light on at all times! So, when people see me they will see my face LIT UP with God’s joy and peace, which is something that I CANNOT live without! It is where I draw my strength because the joy of the Lord is my strength and my stronghold (Nehemiah 8:10, Amp). Therefore, I encourage you to keep your light on no matter what is happening around you!! :)
